Review of 'Hurricaine Ike' and 'West Side Story' Pictures

Picture #1: “Hurricane Ike”
The purpose of this picture is to show the damage and the flooding that hurricane ike has caused. The composition of this picture is unique and does a very nice job showing the damage that was caused. The picture is showing a street and how it is almost flooded up to people’s waists. Depth was shown in this photography, by the stop sign in the background and the stop sign that’s in front. The stop sign that’s in the background is a lot smaller than the one in front, so you can tell by looking at this picture that it’s further away. Depth is also shown by the trees and the streetlights.

Picture #2 “West Side Story”
This picture is showing two people holding hands and running in the street. The woman is further in front than the man, and it gives the picture depth and makes it look 3-dimensional. Depth in this picture is shown by the buildings and the details of the buildings getting smaller as the picture goes further back. Depth can also be found by the size of the woman’s hand that’s in front, and the man’s hand that’s in back.
